Edge excellence awards: FogHorn recognized by ABI Research, Denodo by Gartner

FogHorn announced it has been named Overall Leader, Top Innovator, and Top Implementer by ABI Research’s vendor assessment on IoT Edge Analytics: hardware-agnostic software as a service (SaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).

The competition analyzed vendors’ edge solutions in various industries, as well as their go-to-market strategies, scalability, and efficiency.

FogHorn won the top ABI Research award thanks to its performance in the industry, as well as its wide range of clients and strategic partnerships.

Moreover, ABI Research recognized FogHorn for its ability to be deployed across multiple Internet of Things (IoT) use cases and sophisticated capabilities for predictive analytics and machine learning (ML).

“Leveraging edge intelligence enables enterprises to achieve operational efficiency, reduce costs and enhance workplace and asset monitoring,” explained Chris Penrose, Chief Operating Officer at FogHorn.

FogHorn said it received higher implementation scores thanks to the substantial influence and adoption rate of video analytics for the IoT domain.

“We’re honored to be recognized by ABI Research for enabling our customers to reach these goals with our Lightning Edge AI Platform and Solutions,” Penrose added.

For context, the platform is built to exploit the potential of camera sensors using edge computing technologies.

FogHorn has recently entered a new, edge-focussed partnership that will see integrated energy and chemicals giant Aramco deploy the Lightning Edge AI Platform to improve its automation processes.

Denodo named Leader in Gartner 2021 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools

The announcement marks the second consecutive year Denodo achieves this specific award, which recognizes the company’s efforts in data integration tool development.

“I am thrilled to see Denodo recognized yet again in the Leaders’ Quadrant based on our Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision,” commented Ravi Shankar, senior vice president, and chief marketing officer at Denodo.

The company has been reportedly working on data virtualization for over twenty years, particularly to aid customers in managing distributed architectures such as logical data warehouse, data fabric, and data mesh.

The 8.0 version of the Denodo Platform improves the software’s data virtualization capabilities by enabling agile data integration and delivery using artificial intelligence (AI) and ML-powered smart query acceleration, automated and secure cloud data integration, as well as a unified user experience with integrated active data catalog and data science notebook.
