Edge cloud server provider Ridge Cloud and Hivelocity collaborate for cloud-native deployments

Hivelocity, a provider of bare metal cloud and edge computing solutions across seven continents, has collaborated with edge cloud service provider, Ridge Cloud, to support cloud-native deployments. Integration of Hivelocity’s cloud and bare metal services with Ridge’s cloud platform will enable enterprise customers to deploy cloud-native applications at lower cost, reduced latency, and improved performance, according to the companies.

“Cloud-native applications drive business growth, and businesses need the versatility to deploy anywhere they need to best serve their customers,” said Mati Lerner, Ridge Co-CEO. “By overlaying our flexible cloud platform on top of Hivelocity’s vast range of servers around the globe, our partnership will open the door to levels of app performance that until now were impossible to meet.”

Some of the key solutions provided by the Ridge cloud platform include a unified cloud interface with a single API capability that enables the utilization of Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, and public cloud containers. Customers can deploy and scale cloud-native applications in private, hybrid, and multi-cloud architectural environments. Additionally, Ridge’s Resource Allocation Engine allows organizations to deploy their applications outside geographical boundaries while defining the cost and compliances (ISO, SOC 2, HIPAA, etc) to adhere to. The workload manager is responsible for finding a correct resource pool (RP) with consideration for all the requested parameters and resource pool states and characteristics. Some of the parameters include location, resource availability, pricing, CPUs, memory, storage, and more.

Hivelocity’s Bare Metal Cloud along with Ridge-managed Kubernetes, container, and object storage platforms can offer users high performance at a low cost for metal or hybrid cloud solutions that can operate seamlessly just like the public cloud, executives said.

“Bare metal has always performed better and costs less than a like instance within any public cloud,” says Steve Eschweiler, COO at Hivelocity. “With Ridge, our customers are now able to enjoy those clear benefits while also experiencing easy K8s deployment,” he added.
