Nozomi Networks targets industrial edge security with Nozomi Arc

Nozomi Networks, an OT (operational technology) and IoT (Internet of Things) security provider, has unveiled Nozomi Arc, an endpoint security sensor designed to achieve robust operational efficiency. This solution targets the challenge of monitoring industrial control devices and combines the company’s Vantage and Guardian platforms to provide network-based analysis.

Nozomi Arc aims to give complete insights into potential attack targets and security risks within endpoint devices and local networks. It evaluates endpoint vulnerability and detects infected hosts. With the ability to be deployed remotely on industrial devices, Nozomi Arc accelerates mission-critical applications’ deployment and monitoring capabilities.

The company says that Nozomi Arc can effectively gather data from devices not sending or receiving traffic. This data can then be used to analyze and detect security threats without putting a strain on the existing resources. With Nozomi Arc, the solution can monitor assets not connected to a Nozomi Guardian sensor even when offline.

“Operational resiliency is the top business priority for critical infrastructure organizations, which can only be achieved by lowering cyber risks and increasing security,” said Andrea Carcano, the co-founder and chief product officer of Nozomi Networks.

According to the company, Nozomi Arc offers constant visibility into active and inactive network resources and endpoint surfaces, generating a comprehensive security analysis. Unlike traditional network-based sensors, it can monitor potential security risks as well. Nozomi claims the solution streamlines complications related to geographic boundaries and the internal policies of network-based sensor deployments.

Further, the company says that the ability to deploy remotely minimizes the operational overhead of managing endpoints globally. The solution can integrate into any standard operating environment via a software download.

“Nozomi Arc accelerates time to resiliency by transforming every computer on the network into an OT security sensor,” Carcano added. “With Nozomi Arc, users can quickly corollate more information from more sources for better diagnostics and faster time to response.”

Last year, Nozomi Networks and Johnson Controls worked together to develop a smart building cybersecurity solution. This partnership combined Johnson Control’s Airwall technology and Nozomi Networks’ capabilities to offer security threat monitoring and visibility.
