Eseye offers on-device connectivity for resource-constrained IoT devices

Eseye, a cellular IoT connectivity solutions provider, recently launched AnyNet Smartconnect. According to the company, this new on-device connectivity software provides robust and scalable global connectivity for IoT devices. The company claims that the software solution, designed for resource-constrained IoT devices, can reduce IoT device development times by half.

More specifically, Eseye AnyNet Smartconnect is a plug-in software solution that embeds into IoT devices, enabling enterprise customers to connect and monitor edge devices after deployment. The connectivity software supports higher-layer communication protocols, including MQTT, CoAP and Lightweight Machine to Machine.

Eseye AnyNet Smartconnect works on a modem and xSim to manage and optimize Radio Access Type. The connectivity feature allows continuous monitoring of a data session, throughput and errors. This feature ensures a continuous data path using application data flows and MQTT/CoAP performance metrics.

“The Kaleido 2022 Enterprise IoT survey of 750 global enterprises, who had implemented at least one IoT project, revealed that 84% of them ranked the complexities of designing an IoT device as their number one issue they experienced,” said Nick Earle, CEO of Eseye. “This clearly illustrates that a standard embedded connectivity software solution is needed to enable the device the intelligence to operate in different environments, detect connectivity and optimize across multiple constraints, including battery performance, latency and security.”

Eseye AnyNet Smartconnect is built using the company’s AnyNet Federation, a global mobile network across 190 countries, and provides access to more than 700 global networks. The solution also uses the Infinity IoT connectivity management platform, which allows engineering teams to view all connectivity parameters on a single screen.

One of Eseye’s enterprise customers, AmericanPharma, has already integrated the solution. AmericanPharma embedded the connectivity software into its PharmaWatch product, a monitoring IoT device for vaccine temperatures during Covid-19.

“Eseye has proven to be a top-notch partner throughout this project … response times are quick, and the answers and help typically go above and beyond,” said Casey Harris, the chief technology officer at AmericanPharma Technologies. “Thanks to Eseye’s AnyNet SMARTconnect on-device connectivity intelligence, our new system is more reliable than Wi-Fi or the other cell system we previously offered.”
