Zadara expands partnership with Cyxtera to support deployment of private cloud, edge applications

Cloud services provider Zadara has recently announced the expansion of its technology partnership with data center colocation company Cyxtera. The new collaboration will make Zadara’s enterprise-grade cloud services available to Cyxtera customers.

The services include the “zCompute” compute, storage, and networking solution, with the goal of enabling companies to upgrade their existing IT environments with performant private cloud solutions.

“As a competitive alternative to public cloud solutions…zCompute complements our Enterprise Bare Metal offering and our digital exchange fabric which allows us to offer a complete on-demand cloud solution,” said Russell Cozart, Cyxtera’s Senior Vice President of Marketing & Product Strategy.

Zadara and Cyxtera first started their collaboration in spring 2020, with Zadara’s storage-as-a-service becoming available in Cyxtera’s 61 data centers worldwide.

Now, the newly expanded partnership will see Zadara’s cloud computing solution added to the Cyxtera product portfolio.

For context, zCompute is based on a flexible consumption model, designed to provide enterprise-grade, high-performance elastic cloud services, with zero CapEx cost burden.

“By investing in our flexible, on-demand services and extending their commitment to the as-a-service model, Cyxtera is opening the door for its customers to scale as their business demands,” commented Nelson Nahum, CEO, and co-founder of Zadara.

The solution also enables self-service instance-provisioning that scales down to below the starting price and leverages Cyxtera data centers, digital exchange fabric, and infrastructure to deliver low-latency cloud services.

In addition, the zCompute platform is x86 compatible and provides DevOps automation in existing locations with zero CapEx or refresh costs.

“With Zadara, Cyxtera customers get all of the technical functionality they require – without the cost and complexity of owning and managing storage and compute infrastructure,” Nahum concluded.

The solution is currently available in Cyxtera data centers in Dallas and Minneapolis, with expansion plans soon to follow in other North American locations and the UK.

The partnership with Cyxtera comes weeks after another one Zadara entered with Zenlayer to deliver fully-managed cloud storage services at the edge.

The company has also announced the recent addition of more MSPs to its Federated Edge Network program.
