Telin, Zenlayer collaborate on a new digital connectivity platform in Southeast Asia

Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin), a large telecommunications provider in Southeast Asia, has announced a new partnership with Zenlayer, an edge cloud provider. The two organizations will collaborate on developing a digital connectivity platform that would provide on-demand subsea cable services.

The joint development will allow both parties to leverage each other’s strengths. Telin is investing heavily in global subsea cable services. Meanwhile, Zenlayer’s platform will help digitize the service delivery for hyperscalers, carriers and global enterprises.

The new platform will enable businesses to connect and expand their reach globally. Telin’s CEO Budi Satria Dharma Purba said the partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to optimizing its global infrastructure. He added that Zenlayer’s technology would help Telin meet the rising market demand.

“The fast-growing internet economy in the Indo-Pacific area has made the need for connectivity stronger than ever before,” says Budi Satria Dharma Purba, CEO of Telin. “Zenlayer’s massive global scale and advanced technology to build on-demand, easy-to-use edge cloud platform makes them a perfect partner for our digital transformation. We look forward to helping more businesses connect into Southeast Asia and local companies expand globally.”

Zenlayer CEO and founder Joe Zhu said that Zenlayer is committed to providing high-quality service to Southeast Asia users.

“We are thrilled to power Telin’s digital transformation with our technology,” says Zhu. “Through deep product integrations, we will bring a full suite of on-demand cloud networking services to mutual customers and take their user experience to an entire new level,” he adds.

Zenlayer and Telin have a long-term relationship that has reached a new level. Since 2017, the two businesses have worked together on edge data centers and cloud networking services. The investment arm of Telkom Indonesia, MDI Ventures, led Zenlayer’s round of financing earlier this year, further cementing Zenlayer’s position as the region’s leader in edge cloud services, according to the company.

Zenlayer has a strong presence in Southeast Asia with 62 edge nodes and extensive regional partnerships. With its compute and networking services, the company says it has helped many businesses across the globe to capture opportunities in this high-potential market.

This summer, Zenlayer partnered with Hut 8, a digital asset mining and computing infrastructure provider, to offer edge computing services to Web 3.0, blockchain and enterprise customers.
