ALi and Ceva partner to embed scalable AI NPUs in next-gen video platforms

ALi Corporation and Ceva announced a strategic partnership to integrate Ceva’s NeuPro-Nano and NeuPro-M Neural Processing Units (NPUs) into ALi’s Video Display Sub-System (VDSS) platform.

The collaboration aims to deliver high-efficiency AI acceleration for smart edge devices, including smart displays, set-top boxes, and other visual computing devices.

Ceva’s NeuPro-Nano NPU is designed for ultra-low power applications, while the NeuPro-M NPU offers scalable performance for advanced AI models like transformers and generative AI. This integration provides ALi’s ASIC design customers with flexible, energy-efficient AI solutions optimized for deep learning inference.

“Combining our NeuPro-Nano and NeuPro-M NPUs with ALi’s system-level design strengths unlocks new possibilities for edge AI innovation, enabling smarter, faster and more responsive video systems that meet the evolving market expectations,” says Gweltaz Toquet, chief commercial officer of Ceva. “We look forward to enabling next-generation intelligent devices together and driving innovation in the smart edge device market.”

The partnership enhances ALi’s AI-powered ASIC design services, enabling faster development and time-to-market for innovative edge AI solutions.

ALi’s VDSS platform supports 4K/8K video, AI acceleration, and diverse applications like digital signage, automotive, and industrial control. Both companies aim to drive innovation in the smart edge device market, leveraging their combined expertise in multimedia SoCs and AI technologies.

Ceva recently surpassed 20 billion Ceva-powered devices shipped globally, highlighting its leadership in silicon and software IP for smart edge technology.
