DataBank closes deal on sale of French data center assets to Etix Everywhere

DataBank, an edge colocation and managed cloud service provider, has finalized the sale of its five data centers in France, known as “zColo France SAS,” to Etix Everywhere, an edge data center provider in Europe and Asia.

This move comes after DataBank acquired the French data centers as part of the zColo transaction in 2020.

Raul Martynek, CEO of DataBank, voices his satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the agreement with Etix Everywhere:

“We are glad to complete the sale of our French assets to Etix Everywhere and have our French customers and employees join a platform extremely focused on the European market.”

DataBank says it can now concentrate on its core US market with over 65 facilities across 27 markets after completing the transaction.

“Now, we’ll be able to target our capital and resources on deepening our US portfolio to meet the increasing demand for data center capacity that has been unleashed by artificial intelligence applications,” adds Martynek.

Guggenheim Partners were brought on board as financial advisors to DataBank, while Delsol Avocats provided legal counsel to execute this transaction.

DataBank says it helps large enterprises, technology and content providers ensure data and applications are secure, compliant and scalable for the AI era. According to the company, it also offers 100% uptime availability. Meanwhile, Etix Everywhere claims to provide interconnected data center solutions globally with its network of 15 data centers.

DataBank completed seven data center expansion projects across the United States this summer. These expansions in Dallas, Las Vegas, San Diego, Irvine, Kansas City and Atlanta added over 15 megawatts of power and 114,000 raised square feet of floor space. With advanced power designs, cooling systems and dual-factor authentication, DataBank says it ensures redundancy and secure client access to its facilities.

The company has established 74 data centers that offer a combined 2.79 million square feet of raised floor space.
