Axelera AI, Acromove add new board members; Colohouse appoints new CEO

Axelera AI, a European startup focused on developing advanced AI solutions, appointed technology veteran Jonathan Ballon to its non-executive board. With over 25 years of experience in various leadership roles at companies like Cisco Systems, General Electric, and Intel, Ballon brings entrepreneurial and operational expertise to the Axelera AI team.

“Jonathan spent 25 years in leadership roles at some of the world’s most recognizable companies and brought that experience to multiple startups as well,” said Fabrizio del Maffeo, CEO and co-founder of Axelera AI. “We are incredibly honored to have his hands-on leadership expertise on our board of directors and look forward to his contributions to our company.”

Ballon served on the boards of several deep-tech organizations and advised many large enterprises. At Intel, he built the company’s Edge Computing business unit, where he launched Intel OpenVINO, a tool suite for high-performance deep learning. While at Cisco, he oversaw strategy and business development for that company’s $10 billion service and solutions division. He is a well-known contributor to many popular publications such as The Economic Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Venture Beat, Business Week CRN, Tech Crunch and Fast Company. Besides his work in the field, he is also a well-known keynote speaker at large conferences.

Axelera AI is headquartered in the AI Innovation Center at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Acromove appoints former CEO of Vodafone Greece to the board of directors

George Koronias, a telecommunication and high-tech industry veteran, has joined the board of directors at Acromove, a provider of cloud computing solutions for the edge. As he saw the future was wireless, George introduced mobile telephony to Greece and served as CEO of Vodafone Greece from 1992 to 2008. With his ample experience and perspective, the company says that Koronias will help guide Acromove as the company continues to drive the edge revolution.

Founded in 2014 by Evangelos and Artemios Achillopoulos, Acromove, according to the company, is a pioneer in the edge computing field, offering purpose-built solutions that deliver improved performance at a lower cost, the company says. With customers in a variety of industries, including public telecommunications carriers, retail stores, factories moving to Industry 4.0, and smart cities, Acromove is helping businesses harness the power of their data and drive digital transformation, the company says.

Colohouse announces new CEO

Colohouse, a retail colocation, cloud, bare metal, and security provider, has announced that Jeremy Pease was appointed the company’s new CEO. Pease replaces interim-CEO Kevin Reed, who will remain on the Board of Directors.

With over twenty years of experience in the data center and cloud hosting industry, Pease has held leadership positions at several large service providers, including the SVP of Managed Services at Databank and COO at Aptum. He also brings extensive knowledge in scaling organizations and delivering consistent growth.

Pease takes over as Colohouse continues executing its strategy of acquiring and integrating new businesses and delivering growth in the current portfolio. Colohouse currently operates 26 data centers in 21 cities worldwide, offering a range of colocation, cloud, bare metal, security, and other IT services.
