OnLogic launches RedHat-certified edge devices

OnLogic has certified three industrial PCs in various form factors for customer production use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The portfolio includes OnLogic’s popular Helix 500 system, the P2102 Rugged Panel PC, and the soon to be released, ultra-compact CL250 industrial gateway.

Chosen to provide industrial and rugged options for Red Hat Enterprise Linux edge deployments, OnLogic’s Red Hat certified systems offer reliable operation in the types of challenging environments which can cause traditional computers or servers to fail. Fanless cooling, solid state components, and flexible power input options allow for easy deployment and long lasting operation at the edge. Meanwhile, Red Hat certification reassures users that OnLogic’s systems are fully compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux out of the box.

“Red Hat is a highly trusted platform for businesses leveraging Linux, including many customers of OnLogic,” says Mike Walsh, OnLogic Product Manager. “We’re excited to kick off our collaboration with the Red Hat team by launching our first three certified systems – with more on the way. The initial portfolio was chosen by working with Red Hat to identify the systems that cover the widest range of applications for enterprise customers. If your business is already using Red Hat Enterprise Linux at the edge, or looking to implement the Red Hat portfolio of products, we believe you’ll find a great option with OnLogic hardware.”

Red Hat recognizes edge computing as a valuable component of its open hybrid cloud vision, deploying workloads closer to users as well as where data is collected in enterprise, operations, and provider edge applications. OnLogic’s success in deploying systems in all three of these applications provides a dependable hardware foundation for Red Hat’s open source software.

“Red Hat Enterprise Linux provides the consistent, flexible foundation that is needed to run workloads from the datacenter to the edge,” adds Ryan King, Senior Director, Global Hardware Partner Ecosystem for Red Hat. “By collaborating with partners such as OnLogic to certify hardware devices for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, we are able to strengthen the reliability of edge devices and help customers further scale hybrid cloud capabilities.”

Additional OnLogic industrial and rugged PCs are planned to undergo Red Hat certification in the coming year.
