Zadara, Kinx team up to provide edge cloud storage services in Korea

Zadara, an edge cloud provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Kinx, an internet infrastructure service company, to provide edge cloud storage services to the Korean market. The storage solution integrates Zadara’s zStorage storage-as-a-service to the Kinx CloudHub, a cloud platform connecting nine cloud service providers in Korea. The co-developed storage service aims to serve the growing demand for robust edge cloud storage in east Asia.

Both companies are leveraging each other’s strengths in cloud storage services to help enterprises in Korea. Zadara zStorage storage-as-a-service is a massively scalable storage solution that supports demanding workloads and complex data protection requirements. Kinx CloudHub is a private network that gives organizations the ability to have a secure and flexible cloud experience with multi-cloud and hybrid capabilities.

“KINX has been an innovator in Korea and its CloudHub was the first in the country to engage with the world’s leading cloud services, providing the largest number of clouds and connectivity for its market,” said Jeewook Kim, CEO of Kinx. “Zadara zStorage allows us to respond to customer demand for storage suitable for various workloads; it is a valuable complement to our CloudHub offering.”

The Zadara zStorage enterprise solution supports any data type, block, file or object on any protocol, on-premise, across the cloud or in a hybrid environment. The storage solution will support storage services on the Kinx CloudHub multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments. Soonhyun Joe, the director of Zadara Korea, is optimistic about the potential growth edge cloud storage may have in South Korea. With this collaboration, enterprises can get a fully managed zStorage system on a pay-as-you-go basis, according to the company.

This year, Gartner recognized Zadara as a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for primary storage. The company’s strengths include its market positioning, fully managed service and an hourly or annual consumption pricing model. There is no additional cost for support. Zadara provides multitenancy and low latency performance that is much better than public cloud providers, the company says. The company’s zStorage cloud can also quickly adapt to a specific workload.

“By providing Zadara’s zStorage service for the KINX CloudHub, we will bring a best-in-class level of functionality to a new pool of enterprise customers in Korea,” said Soonhyun Joe, director of Zadara Korea. “We look forward to the success this collaboration will bring and even further developing a joint service model with KINX as our partnership matures.”

Zadara joined forces with Green Mountain, a colocation data center provider, to bring cloud-based edge storage solutions to the Nordic region. With Zadara’s federated edge program for managed service providers, Green Mountain can offer its customers a fully managed and distributed cloud architecture, without investing in any extra technology or hardware.
