Duos lands $176M GPUaaS deal as AI demand pushes compute beyond hyperscale

Duos Technologies Group signed a $176M GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) contract with Hydra Host, expected to generate $50M+ annual revenue and $40M+ annual EBITDA over 36 months.

It will involve deploying a high-density NVIDIA GPU cluster and a 4.3MW Edge Data Center (EDC) for AI workloads, as part of the contract.

The agreement reflects growing demand for distributed AI infrastructure as enterprises and cloud providers look beyond hyperscale regions for GPU capacity, driven by power constraints, latency requirements, and the rapid expansion of AI inference workloads.

A $65M public offering, along with existing hardware financing will fully fund the project for immediate deployment.

“The initial deployment will be located at a strategic site and will consist of multiple high-density modular Edge Data Centers (“EDCs”) which are specifically designed to support large-scale AI workloads,” says Doug Recker, newly appointed CEO effective April 1st, 2026. “Manufacturing of the EDCs is currently underway, with critical power modules already ordered to support deployment timelines.”

The EDCs are intended for large-scale AI workloads and deliver high-density power and rapid deployment within 90 days.

A leading global technology company will serve as the anchor tenant for the initial phase, with additional colocation and GPU hosting revenue expected as the site expands. Duos plans to scale its distributed AI infrastructure to 75MW capacity, evaluating additional high-density deployment sites.

The Duos Edge AI division recently opened an Abilene data center to localize compute for West Texas schools back in January, 2026.

The deal highlights how the rise of AI is creating new opportunities for modular, regional, and edge data center operators, as GPU-driven workloads push infrastructure development beyond traditional hyperscale markets and into secondary locations with available power and faster deployment timelines.
