Armada and NOV bring real-time edge AI to harsh industrial sites

Edge computing infrastructure firm Armada and NOV, an energy tech firm, have partnered for AI-driven edge solutions for industrial operations.

This collaboration unveiled Beacon, an ultra-compact edge appliance that leverages the Armada Edge Platform (AEP) for operation in remote and space-constrained environments such as offshore rigs and well sites.

Edge AI is transforming industrial operations,” says Renju Jose Kuruvila, president, NOV Digital & IntelliServ. “Our collaboration with Armada allows us to accelerate this transformation for our customers by putting actionable intelligence in the field, right at the edge, where decisions need to be made.”

Beacon supports AI at the edge for sensor, video and control data in real-time and improves safety, performance and operational efficiency. A few use cases are predictive maintenance, safety supervision, and operational optimization.

It empowers the deployment and scale of AI models, even in a disconnected or bandwidth-constrained environment.

The partnership will help to improve productivity, safety and sustainability while advancing autonomous industrial systems. Beacon is being offered to the Armada marketplace as a turnkey product.

Armada recently joined forces with OpenAI to deliver edge AI to remote industrial sites.
