Siemens pushes industrial edge into harsh environments with OnLogic

Siemens and OnLogic have partnered to extend Siemens Industrial Edge into harsh environments using OnLogic’s ruggedized hardware.
The partnership allows for the digitization of core assets in industries such as mining, energy and distributed infrastructure, even under challenging conditions.
“Our hardware is meant to be installed and then left to do its work for the life of the project,” says Roel Weijters, EU partnership manager at OnLogic. “This provides the reliable physical infrastructure that ensures Siemens Industrial Edge apps stay online 24/7, keeping vital data accessible at all times. We’re excited to work with the team at Siemens to help make digital transformation possible for previously unreachable assets.”
OnLogic hardware is designed as an advanced physical platform, with features such as sophisticated thermal management and customizable I/O to easily interface with legacy equipment.
It helps bring down operational expenditure by drastically reducing frequent maintenance in remote areas and lowering total cost of ownership (TCoO).
OnLogic devices can leverage Siemens Industrial Edge Management for zero-touch provisioning, allowing applications to be deployed more than just locally and at a global scale.
Energy efficient hardware reduces emissions and e-waste sustainably, in line with Siemens sustainability standards.
The combination of these two facilitates innovation in digital transformation by enabling secure, scalable and actionable edge computing in some of the most challenged industrial arenas.
Earlier this year OnLogic debuted CL260, a palm-sized, fanless industrial PC aimed at scalable edge deployments.
