New Abu Dhabi joint venture pushes shift from cloud-first to agentic edge AI

Mimik, Next71 and ASK Holding have announced a joint venture company “Mimik UAE” located in Abu Dhabi to accelerate the development of AI-driven, knowledge-based economy in the country.
The move is in line with Abu Dhabi’s plans to establish the UAE as a world leader and innovator when it comes to AI and technology.
Mimik UAE is committed to democratizing AI through ubiquitous edge processing, available on any device, vehicle and infrastructure allowing sharing intelligence across interconnected and autonomous systems.
The alliance focuses on a transformation from cloud-first to citizen-first AI, with new capabilities for privacy, security and resilience and developing real-time intelligence at the industry edge.
“We are entering the age of the agentic economy,” says Fay Arjomandi, founder and CEO of Mimik. “With built-in sovereignty and execution, along with sustainability and energy cost savings, Mimik provides the most valuable tech stack for the agentic-native economy. The Mimik platform enables operational freedom and control, while simultaneously delivering customers the flexibility they need to grow their businesses.”
Mimik’s Device-First Continuum AI allows devices to reason and act locally, constructing dynamic, decentralized intelligence networks.
The joint venture underpins Abu Dhabi’s objective of striving to be a physical AI hub and will foster innovation, talent development, and data sovereignty.
Mimik’s technology enables an agentic AI economy, moving away from centralized cloud paradigm to a distributed autonomous model driven by smart agents.
Earlier this year Mimik announced a collaboration with AMD to integrate its Agentix-Native Operating and Execution Environment (mim OE) across AMD platforms, enabling ubiquitous AI execution for agentic systems.
