Blaize adopts Arteris FlexNoC to boost edge AI chip performance and efficiency

Blaize, an AI-enabled edge computing chip company has licensed Arteris FlexNoC 5 Interconnect IP for use as the communication backbone of its artificial intelligence (AI) Systems on Chip (SoCs).

Arteris’ NoC technology provides AI data movement, performance, power efficiency and time-to-market advantage for Blaize’s AI offerings.

The company’s AI platform serves multimodal AI applications such as smart vision, industrial sensing and monitoring of acoustics for surveillance, government and defense markets.

“The Arteris FlexNoC interconnect IP strengthens our programmable, scalable edge AI architecture,” said Dinakar Munagala, co-founder and CEO of Blaize. “By integrating Arteris’ configurable NoC technology and leveraging their expert support, we’re able to further optimize performance and efficiency across our Blaize AI platform, helping customers deploy scalable, real-time inference and intelligence across hybrid edge infrastructure more effectively.”

Arteris’ FlexNoC 5 interconnect IP is silicon-proven and provides high configurability and scalability; performance optimization gaps between IP development and integration into the SoC are filled.

Blaize aims to enable real-world AI deployment across industries including industrial automation, transportation and smart surveillance.

Arteris focuses on system IP for semiconductors, helping companies speed new products to market and achieve high performance and power efficiency.
