Maersk taps Zededa to manage edge connectivity across 450-vessel fleet

A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has selected Zededa to power its next-generation IoT connectivity platform, OneWireless, aimed at improving operational efficiency and real-time cargo tracking.
Zededa’s edge computing platform enables Maersk to manage IoT devices across its fleet, addressing challenges like remote deployment, intermittent connectivity, and limited IT resources.
The OneWireless platform supports multiple wireless technologies (NB-IoT, Cat-M, LTE) and ensures seamless integration between private and public networks for reliable cargo monitoring.
“Maersk is leveraging Zededa to deliver innovative solutions that ensure optimal performance for refrigerated container tracking, fleet IoT, and autonomous vessel operations,” says Said Ouissal, CEO and founder of Zededa. “We’re excited to collaborate with Maersk as they enable real-time data sharing and analysis at unprecedented speed and reliability.”
The platform enhances supply chain visibility, reefer tracking, and supports future on-board applications via over-the-air updates. Deployment of the solution has started and is expected to cover all 450 vessels by Q1 2026.
This partnership not only enhances supply chain visibility but also signifies the growing importance of edge computing in optimizing complex, distributed environments like maritime logistics. Deploying edge solutions at this scale showcases the crucial role of edge orchestration in achieving seamless connectivity and real-time data analytics in traditionally challenging and isolated environments.
