Lookout, Aruba Networks join forces for secure access to edge data and applications

Lookout, an endpoint to cloud security company, has collaborated with Aruba Networks, an HPE company that provides network infrastructure, access management and mobility app solutions. Both companies leverage each other’s strengths to serve the growing data-driven edge industry.

As part of the collaboration, Lookout’s security service edge (SSE) platform integrates with the HPE Aruba EdgeConnect Enterprise SD-WAN platform providing a secure service edge architecture for enterprise-scale edge applications.

The integration helps customers and their partners achieve an advanced SASE architecture that keeps edge data secure across devices, apps, networks and clouds. The solution integrates a security stack to deliver a secure web gateway, cloud access security broker, zero-trust network access and data loss protection.

With the introduction of SaaS applications delivered from the cloud, organizations can now provide users access to these applications using personal and managed devices over a network connection. The Security Access Service Edge solution helps to maintain a comprehensive security stack that protects devices and data. It transforms legacy perimeter security into a cloud-delivered, converged network and security capabilities that can be used as needed.

“Aruba is excited to add Lookout to the Aruba EdgeConnect partner ecosystem,” said Fraser Street, Aruba WAN Technical Alliances lead. “This best-of-breed integration combines Aruba’s leading SD-WAN with Lookout SSE into a unified SASE architecture so that our enterprise customers can secure their employees from the endpoint to the cloud.”

According to Gartner, SASE is an important enabler of modern digital business transformation. Their recent survey found that 75 percent of organizations plan to pursue security vendor consolidation in 2022, up significantly from 29 percent in 2020.

Customers will also gain enhanced visibility of end-user activity. For example, they can better understand IP addresses, device posture, and user context when users access business applications or data. This allows customers to monitor end-user activity, gain control and visibility into business application usage and detect potential cyber threats.

“Integrating our SSE capabilities with Aruba SD-WAN simplifies management controls and provides a rich policy framework to keep sensitive data protected without hindering productivity,” said Sundaram Lakshmanan, chief technology officer of SASE products, Lookout.

Earlier this year, Aruba Networks announced an upgrade to its Aruba Edge Services Platform. The new functionality in Aruba Central allows customers to keep pace with rapidly evolving business requirements. For example, the advancements allowed organizations to centralize the management of distributed networks with cloud-native services.
