Edgevana hires new CTO and SVP

Edgevana has hired Ben Haines as its new CTO. Before joining the firm, Haines has been the CIO of several tech giants.

“Ben has an amazing body of work in the IT space having had C-Level roles at Verizon Media, Box, and Yahoo and I couldn’t be happier to add his attitude and experience to Edgevana,” commented Mark Thiele, Edgevana co-founder and CEO.

Now, the executive will aid Edgevana’s efforts to ramp up growth as the company seeks to change how global infrastructure and edge can be procured, designed, and operated.

“Having someone with industry credibility and breadth of experience like Ben Haines join the Edgevana team is an honor,” Thiele said.

The company has also recently hired Dr. Saiid Paryavi, as its senior VP of engineering and IT.

Paryavi has in the past been a founder, tech executive, and advisor to numerous startups.

“I’m humbled by the quality of folks who are interested in the Edgevana story, and the addition of Dr. Saiid Paryavi exemplifies this fact,” Thiele said.

“Dr. Paryavi has a long and storied career in building applications, running engineering and leading IT organizations, from developer to engineering leader to CIO his experience will bring a wealth of benefits to our team.”

DC BLOX appoints John R. Dumler as VP of data center design and engineering

John R. Dumler P.E. has joined DC BLOX effective August 16, 2021. The executive will serve as vice president of data center design and engineering and report directly to Mark Masi, EVP of development, engineering, and construction.

Dumler and Masi will now collaborate to oversee and manage the design and engineering of all DC BLOX data center facilities.

According to the firm, the increasing resources utilized by edge computing require business continuity, and environmentally friendly power usage, both key elements of efficient data center design.

The addition of Dumler will now ensure the DC BLOX can confidently continue working towards these goals.

The hire comes months after DC BLOX started the construction of a regional edge data center in Greenville, S.C.
