AtlasEdge and StorMagic appoint new executive talent to tap into expanding edge computing market

AtlasEdge and StorMagic have recently completed a number of key leadership appointments as they seek to expand in their respective segments of the edge computing ecosystem.

AtlasEdge, a provider of localized and ultra-low latency digital infrastructure focused on the European market, has recently hired Henry Harris as General Counsel and Head of Corporate Development.

Before joining the company, Harris was Managing Director of the legal function at Liberty Global, a provider of video and broadband services. Now, the executive will be in charge of legal matters and corporate development activities at AtlasEdge.

The firm also appointed Ron Huisman as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Huisman has in the past held various high-level posts, including CFO of Liberty Global’s Central division.

The involvement of Liberty Global shouldn’t come as a big surprise. The company contributed infrastructure assets to a joint venture with DigitalBridge that has formed the basis of AtlasEdge.

To further its edge data center portfolio operations, AtlasEdge has hired Zahl Limbuwala as Chief Operating Officer (COO), formerly  Executive Director of Strategy and Market Engagement for CBRE.

Finally, the edge solutions provider appointed Dan Thomas as Senior Vice President of Sales. Thomas joined AtlasEdge after ten years working for Interxion as Senior Director of International leading commercial activities in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the US, and Asia.

StorMagic appoints Danial Beer as new CEO

“StorMagic solves a growing market problem for edge environments, with unique,  purpose-built solutions validated by an established customer base,” Beer said, commenting on the news.

Before joining StorMagic, Beer was CEO of GFI Software, and before that COO of YOUI Labs, and executive director of both the performance management and M&A divisions of IBM.

Now, the executive will combine his expertise with the rest of the StorMagic team to explore new go-to-market strategies and operational efficiencies to aid the company to accelerate its growth.

“I’m excited to join the StorMagic family and help the team find new ways to solve customer problems at the edge and beyond,” Beer concluded.

The CEO’s appointment follows a series of announcements for StorMagic this year, with the company acquiring the California-based firm SoleraTec in April to improve its video and digital asset management storage capabilities.

More recently, StorMagic announced a new partnership with Hivecell, days after unveiling the availability of its new Container Storage Interface (CSI).
