Aptum acquires CloudOps & enhances offerings in the multi-cloud space

Aptum, a hybrid multi-cloud managed service provider, has announced its acquisition of CloudOps, a cloud consulting and managed services company based in Montreal, Canada. This acquisition will give Aptum the ability to provide enhanced cloud migration services and DevOps solutions for its customers in 43 countries.

“We’re excited to add CloudOps’ talented team and its services portfolio to the Aptum family,” said Susan Bowen, the CEO and President of Aptum Group. “This strategic move will extend our ability to serve our customers with solutions such as DevOps and Advanced Cloud Migration Services, offering true hybrid multi-cloud solutions and services at different stages of their digital transformation.”

Aptum is a hybrid multi-cloud managed service provider delivering complex cloud solutions with an integrated secure network. The company says its Data As Infrastructure approach enables them to provide tailored options that maximize the value of its clients’ technology investments, while its global network solutions and expert services offer adaptability across North America, Latin America, Europe and the UK.

Aptum plans to keep CloudOps as a separate unit while combining specific teams, such as advisory and consulting services, support services and DevOps, to provide improved customer service. CloudOps’ leadership teams and employees will join Aptum; its headquarters will remain in Montreal.

Aptum leverages CloudMC’s API-driven, modular and extensible edge orchestration platform to enhance its Hybrid Cloud Management Portal. The company says that these features allow the development of a single pane of glass that allows you to manage hybrid multi-cloud workloads efficiently.

“Over the last two years of collaborating with Aptum to offer Managed DevOps services, we have successfully joined forces to help customers accelerate their application platform engineering and operational excellence in the cloud,” said Ian Rae, Founder and CEO of CloudOps, who will join Aptum’s executive leadership team as president and CEO of CloudOps & CloudMC.

Additionally, the amalgamation of resources from both companies will extend product opportunities across multiple sectors beyond telecommunications to include technology and business services, media and communications, retail, financial services, manufacturing, energy and utilities, hospitality, education and transportation. Through the acquisition of CloudMC’, Aptum can significantly broaden its services across many industries while still providing a vendor-agnostic approach.

“Aptum has invested heavily in its business assurance and Cloud Advisory and Consulting practice, and we are thrilled to be a part of the organization and to benefit from its global sales, marketing, and support services,” added Rae.

In 2021, CloudOps made headlines as they collaborated with Telesat to develop a hybrid cloud platform and enterprise data technology for analyzing and processing real-time and historical satellite information.
