StackPath, Fastly hire execs for revenue, sales positions

StackPath and Fastly have added new names to their executive rosters as both seek to bolster sales of edge computing services.

StackPath says it hired Kevin Odden as chief revenue officer (CRO). Odden will oversee all revenue streams for the company, including new business and installed client base sales.

“We have had continual and impressive growth these past six years we’ve been in existence, but the addition of Kevin Odden will further fuel our growth,” said Kip Turco, StackPath CEO.

Odden has prior experience in sales with other global companies in the digital media distribution market. Most recently, he was the SVP of worldwide sales at Qwilt where he launched the Americas for Content Producer Sales. Qwilt provides caching and content management software to companies such as BT. Prior to Qwilt, Odden was the Group Vice President of Sales Americas for Limelight. Limelight recently renamed itself Edgio after the acquisition of the EdgeCast/Verizon Digital Media content delivery business.

“I have had good jobs with good technology companies involved with content delivery and edge computing for years, but I could not be more excited to be joining StackPath which is leading the way in both,” said Odden. “I look forward to helping the company further accelerate its global growth and customer success.”

Fastly names new VP for ASEAN region

Fastly, which is in the midst of a hunt for a successor to CEO Joshua Bixby, says it hired Vaughan Woods as area vice president for the ASEAN market. Based in Singapore, Woods will be responsible for charting Fastly’s overall growth strategy and presence in the region.

“Our ASEAN expansion from a Singapore base is part of Fastly’s broader commitment to international growth,” says Noel Penzer, senior vice president, International, for Fastly. “In Asia Pacific, we are also investing in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand to support both ASEAN customers and our major global customers in those regions. Vaughan’s deep expertise in go-to-market strategy, talent development and scaling high-performance organizations will help propel us to the next level of market relevance.”

Fastly notes that Woods has over 20 years of sales management and leadership experience and previously worked at 3PAR and IBM where he supported customers in expanding their digital infrastructure and market presence.

“I’m excited to be joining Fastly at this point in time, as we expect to see the demand for high-performance edge computing and unified web app and API security growing exponentially on a global scale,” Woods notes.
