Sonatus launches AI platform to bring edge intelligence directly into vehicles

Sonatus launched its AI Director platform to support in-car edge AI, providing OEMs with the ability to deploy AI models in the vehicle in order to obtain improved response rates, lower cost and better privacy.

The company offers an end-to-end toolchain for AI model training, validation, optimization, and deployment, which cuts down the development time from months to days. It is compatible with multiple AI models including neural networks and language models for adaptive driving experiences, proactive maintenance, and better vehicle performance.

“Artificial intelligence is creating opportunities for new ideas that were never before possible in vehicles,” says Jeff Chou, CEO and co-founder of Sonatus. “With Sonatus AI Director, we are empowering OEMs to deploy AI algorithms of all types into vehicles easily and efficiently, unlocking new categories and opening up an ecosystem of innovation that connects cloud, silicon, Tier-1 suppliers, and AI model developers.”

Primary benefits include cost reduction of data uploading, increased data security and the ability to use existing hardware and continue to scale the AI performance by using new silicon.

Launch Partners include NXP, Arm, and AWS among others demonstrating points of use such as virtual sensors, battery diagnosis, driver monitoring as well as cyber security.

Sonatus AI Director works with Sonatus’ current offerings, augmenting its anomaly detection and vehicle diagnostic features. The company will next showcase the platform at the IAA Mobility conference in Munich, this month.
