Scale Computing, Mako Networks join forces to deliver comprehensive edge networking solutions

Scale Computing has partnered with Mako Networks to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure edge computing solutions for today’s distributed enterprises.

With this partnership, Scale Computing, an edge computing, virtualization, and hyper-converged solution, and Mako Networks, a cloud-managed network provider, offer a complete remote management system for edge computing needs. The companies say that Scale Computing’s software provides easy deployment, while Mako Networks supplies robust networking and security features.

“With most edge locations lacking on-site technical staff, Mako Networks and Scale Computing have developed systems for automating deployment and updates to both networking and applications, as well as a supporting software stack to process data at the edge of the network, closest to where that data is actually created and utilized,” stated Craig Theriac, VP, Product Management, Scale Computing. “Autonomous operation, monitoring, and self-healing properties make on-site intervention a thing of the past.”

This combination of solutions provides PCI-certified security, cost-saving efficiency, flexible scalability and standardized platforms and management across all locations, the companies say. The partnership uses Mako Networks’ SD-WAN technology for reliable connectivity and business continuity at the network’s edge. The combined solution is also easy to deploy, has highly available applications and networking is PCI DSS certified and includes a complete remote management system.

Jason Kubasak, CEO of Mako Networks, commented on the partnership, saying, “We’re excited to partner with Scale Computing. Their low-touch, remotely managed edge computing solution is perfectly aligned with Mako’s similar edge networking and security platform. The combination is truly groundbreaking.”

With this partnership in place, organizations can run critical applications locally while still enjoying the same security and performance they expect from the cloud.

Scale Computing partnered with Intel Corporation recently to integrate its HyperCore software into its enterprise edge compute platform (EEC). The Intel NUC Enterprise Edge Compute platform (EEC), built in collaboration with Scale Computing, will help enterprise customers by allowing them to monitor edge infrastructure and solve problems as they occur.
