Palo Alto Networks and partners introduce security tech for private 5G

Palo Alto Networks has introduced end-to-end private 5G security solutions and services in collaboration with private 5G partners. This initiative enables organizations to deploy, manage and secure networks across their 5G journey, addressing the demand for validated 5G integrations.

Anand Oswal, the SVP general manager at Palo Alto Networks, believes that 5G has the potential to transform the future. However, implementing these networks is intricate and comes with notable security vulnerabilities, Oswal notes.

“True digital transformation requires a robust cross-platform ecosystem where comprehensive solutions and innovative partner integrations ensure strong 5G security,” adds Oswal.

According to Palo Alto Networks, 5G networks are crucial for national infrastructure but due to data transmission, they are vulnerable to threat actors.

Palo Alto Networks 5G Security integrates AI, zero trust and compliance measures to safeguard organizations against threats. By combining security solutions with private 5G technologies, customers can establish network security from the foundation up, the company says.

Organizations like Celona, Druid and Ataya are partnering to establish private 5G networks with integrated Palo Alto Networks 5G Security for enhanced radio network security.

Rajeev Shah, the CEO and founder of Celona, highlights the growing importance of private 5G networks for safeguarding mission-critical applications and sensitive data.

“Our unique integration with Palo Alto Networks provides comprehensive visibility and secure access for enterprise devices connected over Private 5G cellular wireless infrastructure,” adds Shah.

Netscout is collaborating to provide network visibility combined with Palo Alto Networks 5G security, with the aim of empowering security teams to make informed policy decisions.

Bruce Kelley, the CTO and SVP of service provider at Netscout, believes that 5G networks have the potential to revolutionize the world. Still, due to their complexity, enterprises require assistance, Kelley continues.

“We help enterprises combat cyber threats through our pervasive, packet-level network visibility at scale and our open data model,” Kelley continues.

Meanwhile, Nvidia focuses on scalable 5G security to optimize AI-powered applications for speed, security and data accuracy. Additionally, NTT Data offers a technology stack and services for deploying, managing and securing private 5G networks.

Shahid Ahmed, the Group EVP of New Ventures and Innovation at NTT Ltd, emphasizes the increasing importance of private 5G networks due to the computational requirements of Generative AI applications at the edge.

“To fully tap into the potential of Private 5G, a key enabler of Industry 5.0, organizations need complete, fully managed solutions as well as trusted advisors with the right capabilities to facilitate the deployment, management, and security of Private 5G networks,” comments Ahmed.

Last year, Palo Alto Networks unveiled Strata Cloud Manager, an AI-powered zero trust solution for cybersecurity. The company also unveiled new security features and five next-generation firewalls tailored for enterprises.
