Lanner and Personal AI forge edge AI platform to power 6G-ready networks

Lanner Electronics, a rugged industrial computer manufacturer, has partnered with Personal AI to create a turn-key AI Platform designed specifically for telecom service providers.
The platform combines Lanner’s NVIDIA MGX-certified Edge AI servers with Personal AI’s Small Language Model (SLM) technology, enabling telcos to roll-out AI applications at the network edge.
The solution is also designed to enable AI Radio Access Networks (AI-RAN), an essential building block of future 6G network infrastructure, and turning cell sites into multi-purpose AI processing hubs.
Personal AI’s Small Language Models (SLMs) are >20x more efficient than traditional large language models (LLM), allowing telcos to reach 90% gross margins.
“At Lanner, our mission is to accelerate edge-native AI deployment across telco infrastructure,” says Jeans Tseng, CTO of Lanner Electronics. “Our carrier-grade, short-chassis Edge AI servers with scalable AI accelerators are pre-validated with Personal AI’s Small Language Model technology, delivering a production-ready platform that telecom operators can deploy at existing cell sites. This collaboration not only shortens time-to-market but also empowers telcos to launch new AI-driven services and fully unlock the potential of their edge networks.”
Lanner’s ECA-6051 NVIDIA MGX Edge AI server delivers high-density compute, carrier-grade reliability and ultra-low latency for real-time AI workloads. The platform guarantees privacy and regulatory compatibility by processing data at the telco edge, minimizing centralized cloud proliferation.
Its distributed architecture upholds sovereign AI programs, complies with data residency and provides robust AI capabilities. This collaboration aims to unlock new revenue streams for telcos and prepare networks for the 6G era.
Earlier this year, Lanner partnered with networking software solutions firm Arrcus for telco edge networks with AI-optimized, high-performance infrastructure for AI and 5G applications.
