HPE expands GreenLake private cloud portfolio at Equinix IBX data centers

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has partnered with Equinix, a data center and interconnection provider, to expand its GreenLake private cloud offerings at the Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers. HPE says its private cloud portfolio, which spans offerings from cloud to edge deployment scenarios, will help customers build their hybrid cloud strategy.

According to HPE, GreenLake cloud services offer customers the benefits of a private cloud environment while taking advantage of the flexibility and scalability of a public cloud. HPE strategically placed its Equinix IBX data centers in locations that provide convenient access for customers to access private cloud services.

As per the announcement, HPE has already established the necessary infrastructure and resources for deploying private clouds in Equinix IBX data centers. This pre-provisioning of its private cloud portfolio includes HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise and HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition.

“This partnership brings the best of the cloud experience like scalability and rapid provisioning, plus optimized performance, open choice, and low and predictable total cost of ownership—closer to our customers’ centers of data and empowers them to speed transformation while optimizing costs,” says Vishal Lall, senior vice president and general manager at HPE GreenLake cloud services solutions.

Last year, HPE introduced GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise, a private cloud solution for organizations focusing on digital technologies. This solution is an API that can integrate into existing software infrastructure, HPE executives say. Organizations can improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts by automating various processes and tasks within their private cloud environment.

HPE has also introduced a new GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition, which enables customers to create virtual machines in hybrid cloud environments. According to HPE, this solution allows customers to manage private cloud infrastructure with the simplicity of AIOps.

“Customers want sustainable solutions, and we are proud of our long-standing commitment with HPE to create sustainable outcomes for our customers and the environment. Together we are helping customers quickly scale with a modern, private cloud solution via a distributed, interconnected digital infrastructure,” says Jon Lin, the executive vice president and general manager of data center services at Equinix.
