Ekinops targets growing edge demands with 100G-optimized optical module

Ekinops, a network access and virtualization specialist, has launched the PM_100HDF01 pluggable module for its Ekinops360 WDM optical transport system, targeting the growing demand for 100G solutions at the network edge.

The new module is designed for both edge applications and long-haul connectivity, addressing the bandwidth needs driven by technologies like 5G and edge computing.

Unlike current pluggable optics, the PM_100HDF01 offers high performance and a managed service demarcation point, simplifying service delivery and monitoring.

“The PM 100HDF01 is designed to address those applications where 10G is not enough capacity but 200G is too much,” remarked Sylvain Quartier, Chief Marketing Officer at Ekinops. “It’s a true multi-reach solution delivering all the performance you would expect from a transponder at a cost point that makes it attractive for deployment at the edge where demand for 100G is really growing.”

Built on Ekinops’ 200G FlexRate technology, it is cost-optimized for 100G and can be deployed in various network types, enhancing scalability and return on investment.

The PM_100HDF01 is now available and has garnered significant interest from both new and existing customers.
