BlackBerry, LTTS join forces to drive innovation in Software Defined Vehicles

L&T Technology Services Limited (LTTS), a provider of digital engineering and R&D services, recently announced a strategic partnership with BlackBerry Limited, a security software and services company.

This alliance integrates BlackBerry QNX’s automotive software solutions into developing Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Under the terms of this collaboration, LTTS will incorporate a suite of BlackBerry technologies, such as the QNX Neutrino OS, QNX OS for Safety, QNX Hypervisor, the BlackBerry IVY vehicle data platform and QNX acoustics middleware.

The companies say this integration will expedite product time-to-market and provide secure mission-critical solutions. With its engineering experience in the SDV domain, LTTS says it has helped OEMs create next-generation vehicles with tailored solutions.

The new platforms will feature high-performance computing (HPC) and domain controllers and showcase software architectures and middleware. Additionally, the partnership will provide specialized training on QNX OS and QNX Hypervisor.

Dhiraj Handa, the VP of Asia-Pacific, BlackBerry IoT, highlights BlackBerry’s credentials for the collaboration.

“Through our collaboration with LTTS, our technology provides a trusted software foundation for the development and advancement of next-generation Software-Defined Vehicles that will deliver enhanced user experiences safely and securely.”

Meanwhile, Alind Saxena, the president of sales and executive director at L&T Technology Services Limited, highlights LTTS’s commitment to security and safety.

“LTTS has been supporting global automotive customers to accelerate their technological development journey towards Software Defined Vehicles built on the highest security and safety considerations,” says Saxena. “Through this collaboration with BlackBerry, LTTS can help automotive organizations realize the full potential of its high-performance and scalable solutions built on industry-leading BlackBerry embedded technologies.”

LTTS is a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited, which focuses on Engineering and R&D (ER&D) services. It provides consultancy, design, development and testing services across various stages of the product and process development life cycle.

Last year, BlackBerry and Amazon Web Services (AWS) unveiled two new Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) offerings: ‘UEM at the Edge’ and ‘UEM for the IoT’. The companies say these products enhance security and management capabilities for endpoints in edge computing and IoT environments.
