Lantronix and Aerora advance edge AI for autonomous drones

Lantronix, a provider of advanced IoT solutions, and Aerora have partnered to develop advanced edge AI solutions for drones, robotics, and surveillance applications. 

The collaboration integrates Lantronix’s Open-Q System-on-Module (SoM) with Aerora’s NDAA-compliant AI-powered visual navigation platform. 

The solution features advanced imaging technologies, including Teledyne FLIR Hadron 640R, enabling high-resolution thermal and RGB imaging. This innovation aims to reduce development timelines, enhance operational capabilities, and ensure compliance for drone OEMs.

The global drone market is projected to reach $163.6 billion by 2030, according to Grandview Research, with most forecasts predicting a  CAGR of 15% driven by applications in logistics, agriculture, infrastructure, and public safety. 

Lantronix’s embedded compute technologies provide developers with tools for real-time decision-making and AI-driven situational awareness. 

The partnership targets both private and government sectors, addressing growing demands for intelligent unmanned aircraft systems.
