Intel dives into Zenlayer’s edge computing solutions in interview series

Intel Corporation conducted a series of video interviews to delve into the solutions provided by Zenlayer in the domains of edge computing, gaming, media and fintech. Zenlayer says its services bring computational processes closer to the end-user, facilitating faster decision-making and improved experiences. In the interviews, Zenlayer elaborates on how technological advancements can provide value-added services and enhance user experiences across diverse industries.

In this conversation, Han Le, the VP of client success at Zenlayer, discusses how the company helps financial institutions with connectivity needs. With the rise of remote work due to COVID-19, many businesses struggled with poor connectivity and infrastructure issues, especially banks in emerging markets such as the Philippines. Zenlayer says it provides a private backbone network that significantly enhances user experience by reducing latency and increasing availability. The service also allows real-time data processing and transfer, which is important for clients like global stock exchanges that rely on immediate data for decision-making.

In the second interview with Intel, Josh Lepold, a senior director at Zenlayer, focuses on the benefits of edge computing and how Zenlayer helps customers navigate challenges in emerging markets. Lepold states that Zenlayer’s edge service is noted for its stability, performance, and extensive reach, particularly in regions with less developed internet infrastructure.

In the third discussion, Lepold further explains why Zenlayer is a preferred choice for edge computing solutions. He says the company’s extensive reach, spanning over 50 countries, and a growing network of 300 edge nodes make it a reliable partner for global deployments. Zenlayer, for example, can test applications in emerging markets using its infrastructure. If the performance is satisfactory, resources can be scaled up; if not, they can be scaled down to test other markets.

“Zenlayer is bringing the latest Intel technologies to their customers at the edge to offer easy solutions for complex edge compute challenges globally. From bare metal to cloud networking to application accelerators, Zenlayer offers edge cloud products even in hard-to-reach markets, and Intel is excited to partner with Zenlayer in key verticals such as gaming, streaming media, fintech, manufacturing, etc,” says Josh Hilliker, Principle Engineer, Intel Corporation.

The fourth interview again features Josh Lepold from Zenlayer discussing the role and benefits of edge computing in the gaming sector. The discussion emphasizes the growing demand for low-latency gaming experiences and quick microtransactions, both facilitated by edge computing. Libold says Zenlayer stands out due to its global reach and rapid growth, boasting a network of edge nodes in up to 50 countries. The company also makes it simple for clients to test applications in new markets using its dedicated bare metal servers, offering high performance and flexibility.

Zenlayer’s Lepold discusses the challenges and solutions associated with media distribution in the last conversation in the series. Notably, he highlights the importance of low latency for media platforms dealing with live streaming and the need for efficient distribution. The discussion underscores the importance of reach, backbone networks, and the ability to process and distribute content effectively for successful media distribution.
