Accenture backs CLIKA to tackle AI compression and edge deployment challenges

Accenture has made an investment in CLIKA, an AI compression platform company, through Accenture Ventures to boost intelligent edge AI offerings.
The joint project is focused on streamlining the deployment of AI on edge devices such as smartphones, IoT endpoints, autonomous cars, and industrial robots.
CLIKA’s customized SDK allows AI models to be compressed and is optimized for different hardware, in a way that provides for space efficiency yet strong computing power, for easy and stable AI computing at the edge.
This collaboration will enable businesses to run high-performing AI models on physical devices to drive new business opportunities across the world.
“Edge computing is now a critical part of the AI lifecycle,” says Raj Wickramasinghe, global lead for Infrastructure Engineering at Accenture. “Today’s enterprises need seamless intelligence at the edge. Through this investment and collaboration, we can bring CLIKA’s technology which allows intelligent models to run on devices not originally designed for AI to our enterprise clients, delivering the efficiency and precision needed to make edge AI practical and scalable.”
CLIKA will become part of Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight, a co-innovation and acceleration program that teams Accenture’s industry expertise with the start-up’s technology to extend its reach globally. The investment aligns with Accenture’s strategy to establish next-generation AI industrialists and reinforce its leadership in the edge AI-based solutions. Terms of the investment were undisclosed, though the partnership focuses on enabling real-time, real-world AI.
